TESTIMONIALS

Just a massive thank you to Mike Fisher and the gang at GPAG for again organising a great May Day recently. My kids throroughly enjoyed it as usual, the pond dipping, bouncy castle, face painting and back to the local Lever Arms for grub after - all for FREE. Amazing, couldn't do it otherwise

This was our second May Day Parade at the Darcy Lever gravel pits and we enjoyed it even more than the first time. There was so much thought and effort put into it. The parade started at the Levers Arms pub and we were given tambourines to bang and asked to make as much noise as we wanted as we made our way to the gravel pits. On the way Mike Fisher stopped the parade to explain the history behind the gravel pits. When we got there we found the site set up for pond dipping and there was also a tent with live exhibits which was really fascinating. All the children seemed to love the pond dipping. It's brilliant that children get the opportunity with their families to learn about nature.

There were also a few other stalls. My grandson had a go at throwing bean bags into a frog's mouth (it was a huge frog)! And he was lucky enough to win some sweets. There was also a bouncy castle, face painting and opportunity to make a headdress out of leaves which my brother had a go at.

Best of all, at 2 o'clock we all met up for the dragons egg hunt which took place in a cordoned off area a few minutes walk away. Volunteers had hidden 'dragon eggs' around the site and the children all ran off and tried to find the eggs. The kids had a great time finding the eggs.

It was a really lovely afternoon thanks to all the volunteers. Let's hope that this event takes place again next year. Well done everyone and thanks for all your hard work.
